Message from H.E Chief Minister of Melaka, Malaysia

The theme "Global Tourism: Game Changers and Pace Setters" will once again give a platform to the tourism industry in Melaka to enhance the capacity building and develop strategy to enhance the country's economic transformation in 2013. We welcome the delegates and speakers to Melaka-the UNESCO World Heritage City and it is such an honour for us to be with all of you to hold this distinguished conference.

Malaysia's tourism sector is anticipated to maintain its prominence as the country's third largest income contributor to the nation's economy. It is through the strong commitment of the government at the highest level, together with cooperation as well as support from the private sector, that has enhanced the growth and development of the tourism industry. The conference shall witness high quality of deliberations and presentation which shall prove its point towards building the nation's economy.

I take this opportunity to invite participants from all relevant sectors especially the government and industry leaders to the World Tourism Conference 2013. May all off you engage in fruitful discussions with the stalwarts of the tourism industry on initiatives that will help propel the industry onto a higher and more desirable level in the whole region.
