Their recognition, influence and respect in the ecotourism industry will auger well to grow APES with a healthy multilateral membership that will benefit from the work of these individuals. The are also charged with the responsibility to uphold the Quebec Declaration on Ecotourism (2002) as well as the Vientiane Declaration on Ecotourism for Developing Countries (2009) both endorsed by the United Nations and the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
With due respect and utmost appreciation to those who have volunteered to be in the Pro-tem Committee of APES in the meeting on July 17, 2009, they are invited to be part of the Founding Committee subject to the pre-qualification as stated above. The pro-tem committee which has not met for the past 3 months due to various personal problems and issues is deemed disbanded. The Founding Committee will present its Management Plan and Roadmap for APES to the provisional members in due course.
