GETTING AROUND
Getting around Samui is easy with plenty of

are red coloured converted pickup trucks with two long bench seats
facing each other in the back.
They ply within and between Chaweng and
Lamai for a fixed fee of between 20 to 40 baht per head which is the
cheaper form of
transportation in Samui. Advisable to find out the fare from the locals first !
You may be approached by Songtheaw drivers
offering cheap round island tours. Beware of scams and tourist traps. |
TAXIS
Available
at the airport and usually for longer distances to a place you are not
sure of its location. Make sure you ask the driver to use the meter
before you set off, or if not, settle on a price before you start. If
you really need to take a taxi, find out the fare first and bargain.
