Tentative Itinerary
Day 1 (11 July 2010)
Arrive in Kota Kinabalu, met and assisted upon
arrival and transfer in to Pacific Sutera Hotel.
(If you take the morning flight into Kota
Kinabalu, you can do an
optional in the afternoon or evening today)
Day 2 (12 July 2010)
After breakfast, 0800 hrs depart on a
2hr,90km/55mi drive across the spectacular
Crocker Range to the ecologically unique
environs of Mt. Kinabalu. Stopping briefly at
fruits and souvenirs stalls.
At
the Park HQ (1,540m/5,000ft), visit the
Education Centre and the Botanical Garden to see
orchids, rhododendrons, ferns, pitcher-plants,
kerosene trees and others. Take jungle walk near
the Park HQ and learn more about the Montage
Forest.
After lunch, depart to Poring Hot Spring. Trek
though a hill dipterocarp forest rich in wild
fruit trees and animal life, passing giant
bamboos and ginger plants with edible flower to
reach a jungle – canopy walkway 40m above
ground. Then relax in open air outdoor tubs
filled with hot/cold running mineral waters. Mid
afternoon, return to Kota Kinabalu with brief
stopovers at fruit stalls.

GARAMA RIVER CRUISE
in search of Proboscis Monkeys @ RM100

1400 hrs,
depart from Kota Kinabalu on a 2- hour
drive to the South West of the State to
a little village called Garama.
Upon arrival to ALJO Riverside Lodge
Cafe, you will be met by the Villagers
with their " traditional welcome," and
also an opportunity to take photograph
with the them. Tea and local snacks will
be served.
After tea, embark on a journey by boat
through the tranqulity and serenity of
mangroves, nipah palms, scrubs and
secondary vegetation in search of the
probosics monkeys and other wildlife.
The Proboscis Monkey (Nasalis larvatus)
is also known as the Monyet Belanda in
Malay, the Bekantan in Indonesian or
simply the Long-nosed Monkey. It is a
reddish-brown arboreal Old World monkey
that is endemic to Borneo's low
elevation mangrove forests, swamps, and
lowland riparian forests. The cruise
will take a pleasant 2 hours
approximately.
While returning, watch the sunset as the
daylight fades into dusk and thrill
yourself to the spectacular experience
of hundreds of fireflies lighting up the
trees. Upon your return to the Cafe,
unwind before you are served with
sumptuous traditional local dinner.
After dinner return to Kota Kinabalu

2 DAYS/1 NIGHT SUKAU (Proboscis Monkeys)
AND SEPILOK, SANDAKAN (Orang Utan)
Day 01 (11 July 2010) : Sandakan‑Sukau
Met upon arrival at Sandakan airport then
overland for about 2.5 hours to Sukau.
Arrive Sukau, take a 10 minutes boat ride to
the Lodge. Upon arrival, check in at The
Lodge. Late afternoon (1630hrs), go on a
river cruise to Menanggul River, a small
tributary of the Kinabatangan in search
of proboscis monkeys and other wildlife.
Return to the Lodge for dinner and
overnight. (Lunch & dinner included )
* Optional: Extension Night at
Sukau RM250.00 per person per night - full
board
Day 02
(12 July 2010) : Sukau ‑ Sandakan ‑
Sepilok
After breakfast, at 0700hrs, depart
Sukau for Sepilok Orang Utan
Rehabilitation Centre. Upon
arrival, proceed to the free roaming
area feeding platform. 1000hrs feeding
of Orang Utans. At this centre, observe
man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan”
being rehabilitated to become wild in
their natural habitat and experience a
walk in the Tropical Lowland dipterocarp
forest of Borneo. Proceed to video show
about the Sepilok Forest Reserved and
Rehabilitation Centre.
At 1130hrs, depart to Sandakan town for
lunch while sighting the Water Village
houses on stilt above water occupied by
native tribes and the Central Market.
Lunch at a local restaurant. After
lunch, drive up hill to the Puu Jih Syh
Chinese Buddhist Temple (if time
permitted) which offers a panoramic view
of the Sandakan Bay.

Transfer to the airport for return trip
to Kota Kinabalu/Kuala Lumpur OR extend
stay in Sandakan. Extension Night at
Sandakan Hotel RM160.00 per room per
night with breakfast
* Optional:
If pax wish to extend their stay in Kota
Kinabalu instead, they can join in the
Dinner hosted by Sabah Tourism.
Extension Night in Kota Kinabalu -
RM380.00 at Pacific Sutera with
