The WEC2010, supported by the World Tourism
Organisation (UNWTO)
is a not-for-profit international conference
that represents the global ecotourism
fraternity; experts, practitioners and
proponents from the private sector, governments,
academia, NGOs, professionals and stakeholders
who in one way or another plays a role in the
development, implementation and study of
ecotourism and its triple bottom line
principles. Dubbed as the world's premier
ecotourism networking event, this is an annual
opportunity for the ecotourism players and
stakeholders to meet different sectors and
sections of the ecotourism industry to exchange,
share and work on our common ideas, issues and
topics to reach desired goals caring about local
communities, nature and environment through
ecotourism.

hosts Malaysia Ministry of Tourism, Tourism
Malaysia, Malaysian Ecotourism Association,
Malaysia Airlines and the Kuala Lumpur
Convention Centre, WEC2010 is poised to be the
largest and most important ecotourism conference
in this part of the world with over 70 speakers
and 600 delegates from 50 countries. Other
supporters include National Tourism
Organisations (NTO) of member nations of the
Association of South East Asia Nations (ASEAN),
the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), the
Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT)
and the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines
East Asia Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).
WEC2010 offers the opportunity to access over
600 delegates from all over the world. The
potential delegates represent influential
ecotourism leaders and professionals who have
significant influence and decision-making powers
in the ecotourism industry through their vast
expertise and experience in the development,
consultancy, management of ecotourism related
policies, facilities, programs and services.
