1) Bojo River Eco-cultural Tour Aloguinsan

The eco-cultural tour takes you Bojo River, one of the major tributaries in Aloguinsan, where a community of fishermen and their families operate the educational and entertaining tour. Package includes mangrove ecology and bird wildlife lecture, handicraft demo, a buffet lunch and a snack and a cruise down the river. Tour proceeds fund community projects and provide alternative income to the families.

Bantayan Island is located on the north west end of Cebu Island. It is well known for its amazing beaches and crystal clear waters. It has a thriving fishing industry and poultry egg industry; producing hundreds of thousands of poultry eggs daily.

Malapascua is located in the Philippines just off the north tip of Cebu Island. arrange a private taxi and boat transfer. Average price is around US$70-$100 for a one way transfer. arrange a taxi in Cebu. The 3 hour journey will cost anywhere up to PHP 4,000 Once in Maya you can hire a private boat (P1000 and up), or just wait for the public boat (P50). This takes 30 minutes. Malapascua is of course famous for its daily thresher shark sightings. Thresher sharks are a deep water shark and are very rarely seen by divers. Malapascua is the only place in the world they can be seen every day.

4. Kawasan Falls (most famous falls in Cebu)

Just 130 kilometers southwest of Cebu City and about three hours bus ride, the Kawasan Falls is located inside the mountains of Barangay Matutinao, Badian.

5. Olango Wildlife Sanctuary (Birding)


The Olango Wildlife Sanctuary supports the largest concentration of migratory birds found so far in the Philippines. There are 97 species of birds in Olango Wildlife Sanctuary, 48 of which are migratory species, while the rest are resident birds of the island. It is about 4km away from the Mactan Island or approximately 15km east of Cebu City.

    BOHOL - "Heart of the Islands"

    Although Bohol is not part of Cebu but its proximity via a 2 hour ferry ride from Cebu makes this destination an extended attraction for visitors to Cebu. Bohol is the 10th largest island in the Philippines. The Chocolate Hills, 1,262 limestone hills, is the most popular attraction. Bohol, like the surrounding islands, emerged from the sea during the mid Tertiary, some 20-30 million years ago. The island is made of extensive karst (limestone) formations.
    Panglao Island is famous for its diving locations and routinely listed as one of the top ten diving locations in the world.
    Another attraction is the Loboc River cruise. Numerous tourist resorts dot the southern beaches and cater to divers from around the world. The Philippine Tarsier, considered the second-smallest primate in the world, is indigenous to the island.

    OSLOB - Shark Ecotourism

    Swim with the whale sharks. This is a "once in a lifetime experience". Car hire from Cebu City to Oslob, south of Cebu Province, is about P3000, 3 hours each way. Be there by 9am for best experience. The Oslob Shark Watching is a local government supervised enterprise to ensure local operators abide by enactments and conservation guidelines because these huge and gentle whale sharks (from 4 to 5 metres long) come up close to humans.  You will be given a mandatory briefing on the "Do's and Don'ts". No touching, no camera flash and no sunblock lotion in the water. It's shark watching, not shark touching. Offenders are fined on the spot. It is still an amazing experience, not to be missed!

    MOALBOAL - "Diving Paradise of Cebu"

    Around Pescador Island is the Moalboal Marine Park best for diving. Moalboal is on the southwest coast of Cebu Province, some 89 km from Cebu City.

Tips

The Carbon Market is not where carbon credits are traded. It is the oldest and largest farmer's market in Cebu City and is a major tourist attraction. The place is an explosive hive of local culture and activity.
