Homestay Kampung Batu Papan

Sit
by the river edge and listen to the soothing sounds of the Galas River
as it flows steadily beside the village. Catch the sunrise over the
horizon as villagers’ wake up to another day full of activity.
The place is serene,
surrounded by peculiar caves, the Honey Cave (Gua Madu) of which, only

According to local
folklore, a swarm of bees built their nest on the cave ceiling, and the
nest has grown over the years. It is this peculiar spot that has given
the cave its unusual name, Honey Cave.
Another popular activity
here, is fishing by the lake. Village boys’ often spend time here during
the school holidays to catch the odd prawn or two.
Visitors’ can also watch
up close the making of kerepek (crackers), a cottage industry slowly
helping the village folk increase their economic livelihood.
One can’t help but smile
at the warmth hospitality of the villagers, as they introduce you to
their local culture. Try learning a Kelantanese dialect or two, and
watch their faces smile wide as they exchange greetings with you.

how much you discover about Kelantan and its gentle people, through this
homestay experience!
