Destination management is complicated by the fact that a single, recognizable destination may include several municipalities, provinces, or other government entities - in island environments it may be the entire country.

DISCOVERYMICE plays the role of advisory-consultant or implementation-consultant for destinations specialising in developing road maps to re-vitalise a destination through various development, communications and promotional programs and activities involving the stakeholders in the destination. Participating governance structures are led by local authorities, with the involvement of local NGOs, community and indigenous representatives, academia, and local chambers of commerce. Our objective-oriented tourism programs include destination branding, tourism indicators and accounting, community-based tourism confronting rural poverty and sustainable development for tourism.
